• Modes: The Saregama Carvaan can be operated in four different modes as per the user’s personal choice:
  1. Saregama mode: In this mode one can listen to Tamil & Hindi film songs, vocal and instrumental Carnatic music and devotional music from Saregama. In the Saregama mode, the user can play the songs as per the following categories:
     • Artistes: Comprises 23 music stations dedicated to legends like M.G. Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, Ilaiyaraaja as well as musicians A.R. Rahman, Vaali, S.P. Balasubramanyam, T.M. Soundararajan, P. Susheela and many more.
     • Devotional: Includes 8 music stations dedicated to devotional music for deities Murugan, Ayyappan, Amman amongst others.
     • Carnatic: 20 music stations dedicated to Carnatic classical music in both vocal and instrumental by legendary artistes M.S. Subbulakshmi, Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, M.L. Vasanthakumari, N. Ramani, E. Gayatri and others
  2. Bluetooth mode: Through this mode, songs stored on personal devices like mobile phone or tablet can be played via the Carvaan speakers
  3. USB mode: The songs stored on personal USB devices can be played via Carvaan after switching to this mode
  4. FM mode: The local FM radio channels can be listened to using the FM mode. It has an inbuilt antenna that works reasonably well, but not as well as a telescopic radio antenna.

Well, one just cannot ignore the phenomenon called Saregama Carvaan and we love it too. A wholesome entertainment packaged in a retro look - perfect for lovers of the golden era of Bollywood Music.

 

We just wish that the FM channels were storable for easier access instead of having to retune it every time and the In-built antenna could be replaced with a telescopic version.
